Their Story
t is with deep sadness that we announce that Robert Jordan Montgomery, aged 36, passed away unexpectedly on 28 June 2026. He was born on 18 February 1990. He is survived by his parents, Laura and Matthew, and by his sisters, Lauren and Arianna, and his niece Mila. His memory is also cherished by his maternal aunts, Rebecca and Jennifer, and by his paternal aunt, Jennifer. Additionally, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Maria, and his maternal grandfather, Jim. He is also remembered by his cousins Morgan, Macy, William, Tommy, Scott, Sidney, Chelsea, Kendra, and Chloe. He is also cherished by a large extended family and friends.
Jordan was a loving son and brother to his two sisters. He was a remarkably funny and quick-witted individual. He loved to make his friends and family laugh, and made jokes and references that could stick with you for years. He was a great story teller and always had an interesting life experience to share.
Jordan was a very loyal individual to his friends and family. He was constantly thinking about others, and was always looking to find ways to help people through hard times. He strived to be a source of light in dark times for the people he cared about. He had a big heart that went out to the suffering of even those he didn’t know, always keeping up with current events and speaking out about injustices occurring all over the globe.
Anyone who knew Jordan knew how much he loved and appreciated the arts. He was deeply passionate about games, music, movies, sports, and gothic art.
His favorite games to play were isometric hack-and-slash dungeon crawlers such as Diabolo 2 and Path of Exile 2. He also enjoyed MMOs in the past such as Runescape and World of Warcraft, as well as a variety of other games in different genres. He loved grinding for rare items, as well as the social aspect of games, such as trading with others and helping players out.
Jordan primarily listened to death metal and could talk for hours on the subject. Out of the countless artists he listened to, his favorite band of all time was the Black Dahlia Murder. He loved supporting bands large and small and would often go out to concerts and collect band t-shirts. He’s met a lot of members of his favorite bands, and also engaged in smaller ways, such as watching interviews, various covers, or promoting their music. He had even practiced death metal vocals and played drums in the past.
Jordan was a huge movie lover. While he didn’t have a specific favorite movie, he could give countless recommendations on horror, action, and comedy movies primarily. He was always making a reference of some kind to a movie, no matter how obscure. He would also review films to family members and constantly gave out recommendations for people to watch. He also liked to watch new movies in theatres.
Jordan was an avid sports lover. He especially loved Cleveland sports teams. He followed the Guardians and Browns daily and was always quick to discuss news with his favorite teams. He also took a growing interest in the Cavs the last few years. He was fortunate to go to a fan experience for the Cleveland Indians when he was young and a Browns training camp where he got to see close up his favorite players.
He also loved to hike to connect with wilderness. Jordan had a great eye for aspects of nature and loved to take photos of images that inspired him, often sharing them with friends and family. He had a great fondness for animals, and was a magnet for animals himself. Cats and dogs would gravitate towards him, and he always had the most creative nicknames for his pets.
Jordan was a remarkable individual with lots of personality and a love for all things good in this world, and he will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he touched. Forever will he be known as a loving son, brother, nephew, grandchild, cousin, and friend.
